The holidays are here and you’ve decided the best holiday gift for your colleagues, clients or superiors is a corporate gift basket. After looking at all of your options, however, you may not know what to choose. Read on for tips on choosing the perfect corporate gift basket for your receiver.
- · If sending the basket as an alternative to individual gifts for an office or a group of people, consider the number of people who will be sharing the gift. You want to make sure that everyone in the office, even those you may not know, gets at least a small piece of the basket. If you don’t know the size of the group, consider boxed chocolates that have a lot of small pieces so that at least everyone gets something.
- · Corporate gift baskets that contain coffee and tea, or baked goods that everyone can share at a meeting are great for offices. Steer clear of alcoholic beverages, or anything else that can’t be enjoyed in the office to be shared by everyone. Something that needs to be cooked for example is a poor choice.
- · When sending a corporate gift basket to an office, try to plan to have the gift arrive early in the day and early in the week so that everyone can enjoy it, especially if it contains baked goods that may go stale. A Tuesday morning is a better day and time than late Friday afternoon or before a holiday when the office will be empty for a few days. If the basket can’t be enjoyed, it’s a waste.
- · For an individual, such as an assistant or co-worker, think about what they like. You can do a spa basket, or one that contains movie tickets, candy and popcorn. It’s more personal; hence the recipient will appreciate it much more.
- · Wine and alcohol should only be given if it is going to be taken home. This type of corporate gift basket would be perfect for a CEO, but not for the entire office.
- · Do not choose baskets that are religious in nature, even if they are holiday baskets. Keeping it neutral will say you care without offending anyone. If you’re unsure, you should even avoid cookies and such that are often associated with religious holidays and events.
Once you know your intended receiver, sending a corporate gift basket is a flexile and easy option that everyone will love.
